We are proud to announce that at the State of El Cajon address on Tuesday, February 18, our Senior Vice President Tim McDougal was honored as Citizen of the Year for the City of El Cajon.

We are proud to announce that at the State of El Cajon address on Tuesday, February 18, our Senior Vice President Tim McDougal was honored as Citizen of the Year for the City of El Cajon.

A native of El Cajon, Tim is a humble, natural leader who believes that getting involved with his community is the right thing to do.

Tim was nominated by the Boys & Girls Clubs of East County for service to the community in the following capacities:

  • Rotary Club of El Cajon, 1987-current. Current board treasurer, past president.
  • Rotary Club of El Cajon Foundation, 2015-current. Current board chair.
  • Boys & Girls Clubs of East County, 1996-current. Current board secretary.
  • Boys & Girls Clubs of East County Foundation La Mesa Capital Campaign, 2013-2018. Cabinet member.
  • Boys & Girls Clubs of East County Foundation El Cajon Capital Campaign, 2008-2011. Cabinet member.
  • Boys & Girls Clubs of East County Foundation, 2022-current. Current board treasurer
  • East County Posse, 2008-current. Current golf chair, past president, past appropriations chair.
  • San Diego Regional East County Chamber of Commerce, 2000-current. Current active member.
  • La Mesa Chamber of Commerce, 2000-current. Current active member.
  • Community Covenant Church in El Cajon, 2000-2009. Elders board.

Moreover, Tim has sponsored the Rotary Club of El Cajon’s grant to provide transportation scholarships for El Cajon students from local public schools to the Boys & Girls Clubs of East County’s El Cajon Clubhouse.

His nominator, Forrest W. Higgins III, wrote, “Tim is the epitome of a community servant; using his time, talent, treasure and network to bring people together, connect members of the business community with nonprofits, take on a leadership role when needed and put the good of the community before himself.”

Forrest also shared that Tim secured grants from the East County Posse to the Boys & Girls Clubs of East County to underwrite East County Transitional Living Center children’s membership, transportation and summer camp at the El Cajon Clubhouse.
